Console tab
Multi-tab terminal with Claude Code and Bash sessions, each backed by a persistent tmux session.
The Console tab is the multi-tab terminal where your environment's Claude Code and Bash sessions live. Each tab is an independent tmux-backed session that survives reconnects and browser refreshes — close the tab, come back later, and your work is still there.
For the full session model — renaming tabs, pinning, /remote-control, and terminal mechanics — see the Claude Code chapter.
Quick reference
- + New spawns a fresh session in the mode selected by the mode chip next to it (Claude is the default).
- Claude mode starts the session with
claude --dangerously-skip-permissionsrunning inside a tmux window — no approval prompts for file edits or shell commands. - Bash mode opens a plain interactive shell. Run
claudeyourself if you want more control over which operations require confirmation. - 10-session cap per environment across all tabs.
- Tabs are renameable double-click the tab label. The new name appears on /remote-control so you can identify sessions across devices.
- Your tabs are the sessions you pinned. Opening a session pins it; the square on a tab closes it without stopping the session. Other live sessions sit in the N more dropdown.
- Pinned tabs stay connected in the background. Switching between them is instant — if a tab's session drops on its own it shows [Session ended]; click it to reconnect. If your laptop slept or your network changed, the console checks its connection the moment you come back and reconnects by itself.
- Local Typing (key bar): compose locally, send on Enter; start with
/to type live.
When to use Console vs other tools
| Task | Use |
|---|---|
| Quick shell command or one-off Magento CLI | Console — Bash mode |
| Ask Claude to investigate or fix a bug | Console — Claude mode |
| Long editing session with many files open | Codeserver (button in environment header — desktop only) |
| Pair session with a teammate on another device | Console + /remote-control |
| Mobile or tablet | Console (Codeserver is not available on mobile) |
| Run a deploy sequence | Deployments tab |
Command blocks
Below the terminal area, a Commands panel lists platform, service, and deployment commands. Click any command block to send it directly to the active terminal session — useful for frequently-run Magento CLI commands without typing them out. You can add, edit, and reorder blocks from the panel.
See the Claude Code chapter for the full session lifecycle, including how the environment header's Claude button creates a new session from outside the Console tab.
