New environment

Create a staging, develop, or test environment cloned from your production environment.

The first panel on the Settings tab is a shortcut to create a child environment based on the current one. When you click Create Environment, StoreFrame opens the environment creation wizard pre-filled with the parent environment's provider, location, and platform configuration.

What gets copied

The new environment inherits:

  • Cloud provider and datacenter location
  • Magento platform version and configuration template
  • Provider group (internal or external)

It does not copy live database content or uploaded files — those start fresh from the platform template unless you later run a sync.

Slot requirements

Each child environment consumes a Stage Slot (€10/mo). Before creating, StoreFrame checks whether your subscription has an available slot. If you're at capacity, the card shows the reason and the button is disabled.

Trial environments

If the current environment is a trial, the card shows a notice that child environments are only available on a production subscription. A Subscribe link takes you to the creation wizard to upgrade.

When a child can't be created

The button is disabled if:

  • No Stage Slots are available on your subscription
  • Another job is already running on this environment
  • The environment is not in an active state that allows child creation

The card displays the specific reason so you know what needs to change.

Next steps

After clicking Create Environment you go through the environment creation wizard. See /docs/hub/environments for an overview of environment states once provisioning begins.
